The Bartlett administration's absolutely weak ass response to gay rights shadows Bill Clinton's own many failures when it comes to gay rights. They keep telling us how 'liberal' Bartlett was, but even for the 90s, he's pretty milquetoast.

One of the many times that Bartlett and his staff (Leo, Toby, CJ, Josh, etc.) were willing to undermine and diminish the people that were in Bartlett's cabinet.

It doesn't matter that the VP looks bad, because they hate the VP, just as they hate most members of his cabinet. Bartlett has to come out smelling like roses and if it screws over anyone else, so be it.

It's disingenuous, because Bartlett believes that gay people should be married, but if the voters are against it, he can say that he was the one who removed it from the bill, but if they're for it, he can claim that he was always for gay marriage and absolutely supports it.

I very much liken this Whitehouse to the Obama Whitehouse. Whipsmart people who cared. Can you imagine the Trump Whitehouse? 1/3 of the positions unfilled. Everytime I watch one of these I get tempted to pull out the full series dvds and go to town. lol

This is season 6 but its one of the times the writing feels like season 1-4. Ita not perfect but its consistent.
