I'm thankful that I discovered deathcore
ОтветитьBMTH is literally successful band of genre Modern Metalcore, so many experimental and no bored everyone hearing
ОтветитьThis is why I feel like I've drifted a little from metalcore and more into prog metal / rock bands like Animals as Leaders, Polyphia, Chon, Plini, Jason Richardson, Angel Vivaldi, many of your standard instrumental guys. Even Fire from the Gods, Northlane, Skyharbor, Volumes, The Contortionist, basically any band that's not so concerned with fitting into rigid genre boxes. I really dig when bands experiment with other genres and even collab with artists from outside of the genre. I'm still into the core, but sometimes I need a little more emotional variety.
Ответитьlike i saw invent animate, alpha wolf, thornhill, and Erra was headlining and they were all fucking fantastic
it was great like i dont understand the negativity vs metalcore bands expanding. like beartooths single they recently released riptide was amazing and it isnt their usual but its still so fucking good and I'm all for new influence in these bands and it should be supported
I think Metalcore is constrained by its own fundamental features. If a Metalcore band tries to expand its boundaries in different directions, it changes genres much quicker than other genres do. If they try to go for a heavier sound, they become Deathcore. If they try to appeal to a wider audience, it becomes more mainstream radio-style metal. And if they try to spice things up a little, they get thrown into the Prog bin. There's not a whole lot of room for expansion within the genre, without rewriting what the genre actually means.
Ответить2000s metalcore is by far my fav. and many of the bands from then are still what i listen to mostly. My biggest problem with modern metalcore is the overproduced almost electronic sound that kinda became more popular when bands like asking alexadria and bring me the horizon started doing in the 10's. alot of it has a dance club sound mixxed with metal to me. alot of modern metalcore reminds me of that pop goes metal albums.
ОтветитьJapan has a really banging modern metalcore scene, you should check out some of the bands (coldrain, Dimlim, Crystal Lake, Survive Said the Prophet).
Ответитьcheck out my band NOVA. we release a song 2 weeks ago
ОтветитьPower Metal termina when?
ОтветитьI'll be locked in 2000s Metalcore forever..
Ответитьany mathcore fans out there? 🥺
ОтветитьAsking Alexandria's selftitled is a fucking brilliant album contrary to what literally everyone thinks, lol. The newest Architects is the best shit ever made. What is wrong with People hahahaha
ОтветитьNo you didn't stop lying pinocchio!
ОтветитьMy only problem is not enough bass, and I'm not even kidding at all.
ОтветитьHas anyone here heard of Set For Tomorrow?
ОтветитьDoes A Day to Remember even know who they are anymore? Every new album sounds like five muskrats found instruments in the forest and tried to cover ADTR tracks.
ОтветитьMetalcore has become an established genre with several sub-styles. This has happened to most Metal subgenres before, like Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Hardcore etc. It's a solid genre with a fanbase, but it's not currently truly hyping people up.
Deathcore on the other hand was pretty close to dying, but was resurrected due to some new bands either perfecting it or pushing it further, while being able to use some Social Media hype to get attention. Metalcore can't compete with that these days.
Metalcore is dead, it just sounds all the same nowadays. The only good bands are While She sleeps, Architects and Periphery
ОтветитьStop playing metal for radio and mainstream...
ОтветитьSeems like the consensus is we want more authentic creativity and less lazy idiots just vomiting out algorithms to make money
ОтветитьThen there's me, who can't tell the different between metalcore, deathcore, core of the earth or anything else.
ОтветитьProblem…
Makeup…yeah…Thornhill did the 90's -2000's thing first…DONT TOUCH IT ARCHITECTS
Drop A#…you sinners forgot about Drop C?
Drop F…come on, only Spiritbox makes ultra low sound good, tune up people…Drop G# 7 string cannot only sound good with Periphery
Drop B was absolutely taken by Bleed From Within
just my late opinion but counterparts is the band that found their sound early on, stuck to it but has always added something to their repertoire with each release
ОтветитьBring me the horizon shat the bed with spicy guacamole shit
Ответитьdef gotta give praise to some smaller bands like Grieve, Sera Safe, and a bit bigger but Greyhaven and like Nik said Invent, Animate for keeping metalcore evolving and interesting without staying the same it was in 2013-2016
ОтветитьMusic is music bro, timeless and endless, with only more to come.
ОтветитьMetalcore is just an unrecognizable amorphous blob nowadays as far as I'm concerned.
ОтветитьThe problem with modern Metalcore: Everything 😒
Listen Integrity or Rorschach
I prevail is technically metalcore mixed w buttock lol
ОтветитьTLDR: I can't really realize how anyone could be mad at your favorite artist for they trying to be creative.
😑6 months old response😑sorry it's been weeks since I've started to watch Nik. Anyways, practicing my english writing as a non native.
I mean... I'm brazilian, so my perspective could differ by my culture. Mixing it's always fun, good or bad product in the end, mixing it's fun. I'm always reconizing english speaking music harmonies (usually pop sucesses) in br-portuguese lyrics and styles walking on the streets (not metal btw).
Sepultura and Angra are the biggest "only metal related" bands in Brazil, and they do be mixing a lot since their beggining. Lots of fun and references aplied to our beloved metal.
And this is just normal in every brazilian style, we consume, experience, adapt and do the new and fun. I can't really realize how anyone could be mad at your favorite artist for they trying to be creative, art is wherever people are willing to express and share.
Thank you. Invent animate has been my top for a little over a decade.
ОтветитьThe problem with metalcore is the same problem that deathcore, nu metal , glam metal and groove metal has the fan base are dicks to fans of other genres.
Finn comes to mind and so does someone like Eddie Trunk.
Maybe stop being assholes to people who like power metal or symphonic metal and you would all get less hate. Or not.
Most of the good metalcore bands came from places like Norway, Sweden, and Finland anyway.
ОтветитьYou can only do a breakdown in so many different ways. I thought the breakdown bands were stale when they came out. Every local band was trying to be ABR or asking alexandria. You get so where you have a whole bill of breakdown bands that all sound the same. Its one giant 3 hour song lol.
ОтветитьWhat I will say is that the hardcoreish/90’s metalcore/mathcore style scene is popping off right now, seeyouspacecowboy, mouthbreather, knocked loose, car bomb, boundaries, etc. so many great bands popping off in that scene right now
ОтветитьCounterparts doesn’t miss
ОтветитьBreakdowns in metal music were not always slow. While many breakdowns are characterized by a slower tempo, heavy guitar riffs, and a deliberate rhythmic structure, the concept of a breakdown doesn't strictly adhere to a slow pace. The defining feature of a breakdown is the shift in dynamics, rhythm, and often an emphasis on a repetitive and powerful motif.
That said, I have no idea why metalcore and deathcore bands chose to make these oversimplified breakdowns that mostly sound the same, that basically sound like the band is having a stroke in unison. There are much better breakdowns in other genres that actually drive the song. But to each their own.
Invent Animate is king
ОтветитьEvery band doing a "blegh" has gotten played out
ОтветитьJesus Christ Erra and Invent Animate are some of the most forgettable boring heard it before bands ever, i don't get the circle jerk.
ОтветитьMetalcore bands need to start being heavy again instead of trying to be beatiful or whatever there doing now
ОтветитьMAKE METALCORE GREAT AGAIN!
ОтветитьAugust Burns Red and Bury Tomorrow still metalcore and that's pleasure
ОтветитьBlessthefall is the same nowadays
ОтветитьI have tried to listen those u called Modern stuff but, I'll stay on Thrash, Heavy Metal, and the Melodeath as my main. 🤘
ОтветитьIn other words metal core sucks now.
ОтветитьTraditional heavy metal, thrash, nu metal etc. were far more appealing & accessible to casual music listeners, than metalcore. Case in point, Metallica songs are readily available on the radio than any metalcore bands, still to this day. 😅
No hate for metalcore, but they need to reinvent & break the wall more often to stay relevant. Maybe like BMTH (Bring Me)?
Japan's metal scene has a lot genre-bending metal bands too. They are becoming more popular globally.
the problem is they change their sound and then price out their original fanbase
ОтветитьC0RE for lyfe
Ответить
