To me, even as a complete novice, the finish and quality of this weapon is evidently superb.
I wonder if consideration was ever given by the MoD to Accuracy International improving the original SA80 rifle. They really seem to know what they are doing 🙂.

If that weird offset Picatinny is meant for one accessory and one accessory only (the thermal scope), why go through the trouble of having a rail at all? Why not put the offset arm and screws on the scope itself?

A marriage of modern considerations without sacrificing the ascetic beauty of the rifle. I miss this in more modern designs.

Two taliban operators and their machine gun took hits from the L115 of CoH Craig Harrison in Afghanistan, 2009. Canada, Australia and Ukraine hold the only three more impressive shots. The Canadian and Aussie shots used .50BMG, the Ukrainian hero used 14.5x114mm.
The .338 was shooting way beyond the range such a round and the scope were ever intended to reach and is the only sub .50 calibre system within the top 10 longest kills.

Great video! But Sweden used the L96 before 1998, called PSG90, I used it during my service 1995 - 1996. I think they modified it in 1998?
