What do you think about ribbon tweeters
ОтветитьAll parts from others are just pretty good compared to dannys .....why?
ОтветитьHi Danny, again excellent video.
Would having different length wire affect phase coherence e.g would longer wires to the tweeter and shorter wires to the woofer bring better phasing? I thought since woofer is slower compared to the tweeter.
You dared to slur the Chevette? You foolish person. Has it ever occurred to you that if you drive a Chevette, you may truthfully claim that you drive a 'vette? Rock on.
ОтветитьPerhaps you could work with Steve Guttenberg and do some listening. Just thinking, that a person can get a pair of Wharfedale Linton Heritage With stands for $1500. That seems pretty attractive compared to buying the Klipsch and then spending $750 on upgrades. How do your Klipsch with the mods compare to Lintons, or Martin Logan ESL, Dali Oberon 7, and Golden Ear Triton Five speakers. All of them are at the price point of the Klipsch with your upgrade.
ОтветитьGood news - the Klipsch fanboys appear to be inbred ;)
ОтветитьIs there a video anywhere on how to replace the regular binding posts with the tube connectors? I’m currently installing your upgrades for SVS ultras
ОтветитьOut of the box, these speakers are ideal for heavy metal. Nothing should be done to them if loud guitar rifts with massive drumming is your thing. Another story is with other genre - jazz, light rock with less screaming vocals......
Ответитьgreat stuff
ОтветитьLOVE the Thumbnail!!!🤩
ОтветитьI watch a few of these Klipsch vids, having been a converted fan, thanks to my old man. And I'm just floored by the discrepancies found with these speaker lines. I guess when you're listening to any model, you're too entranced by the music to know any better.
But being focused on the details, you only then realize that something isn't quite right. My old man has the Forte II's, bought those back in '88 and as of 2015, they've held up very well. I have the far cheaper R28f. It's all I ever needed, but I would love to upgrade a few things about it. Cabinet resonance is certainly present. I do wonder about the crossover points, having watched these videos. For a DIY project, I think this would be worth the effort.
Hey Danny. I have a pair of RF-62's. About 15 yrs old. In your time around Klipsch, have you noticed a downward trend in quality over the years, as some companies do to increase profits. Not inferring that Klipsch does that. just wondering if they made them the same back then as they do now. I'm sure changing those nuts to brass would have put the out of business.
ОтветитьGreat mentality, offer to up the line when you just could keep selling fixes for them !
ОтветитьYou can't fix Klipsch.
ОтветитьProfit boxes
ОтветитьHave you ever spoken about how to look at a spectral decay chart? If not could you in a future video?
Ответить"Hole in the response."
Why are they are consistently doing these? The people there have been doing speakers for donkey years. You'd think they would measure the final designs and see these throughs.
Danny we know you dont like metal cone drivers, but be honest, with your crossover design those drivers do damp pretty well as seen in the spectral decay. Pity they dont design them that way from the factory
ОтветитьDanny, seeing as you're someone who likes to do things right, let's get it right. It is FOOTBALL, not soccer.
ОтветитьHey Klipsch! What house's sound!?! Well, it's more like an accidental sound, IMHO.
ОтветитьWhy you don't make a perfect speaker?
I think you don't know anything😂😅🎉.
I get that you make these better but why do you think they put these out like this? Maybe they intend it to sound like that or just crappy implementation?
ОтветитьHm.... How about keeping with the metal dome but in another metal! I am talking about beryllium! That's an upgrade! And also to keep the same colour in cones but on polypropylene cone! Or real kevlar! In more bronze colour of course! Or bronze coloured carbon! Then they will have a new and more expensive series of models!!!! But klipsh please do these upgrades but please please don't design well the crossover to give Danny area to work with!!!! And to us to njoy video upgrades!!!!!!
ОтветитьI had a few Klipsch speakers up to the the original designed in the forties, the Klipsch horn.. they are fun livespeakers. Loud and direct, but nothing you can live with for a long time. Loud and simple basically. I have so far ended up with the Arendal 1723. For the money a giant killer...🎶☺️
ОтветитьGreat video. We need to be educated!
ОтветитьHey Denny. Are you calling us Klipsch owners a lunatic progressives only bc we aren’t as open-baffle minded as you are? Some of us just like chocolate better
than vanilla. 😉
Great job❤
ОтветитьI am more mad at Klipsch for living off a fake reputation and lying to customers.
ОтветитьOf note: Danny is doing this free of charge for you @Klipsch. Just copy his crossover, and you have a 50% better speaker for 1/10 the cost.
ОтветитьKlipch is owned by Audiovox
What do you expect?
Those are OVERPRICED!
ОтветитьAlu drivers shining. Good job with that response!
ОтветитьWOW Danny! Comparing those Klisch to a Chevrolet Corvair or a Chevelle, will drive the anger of Klipsch fanatics!
ОтветитьWhy so many great reviews on Klipsch stuff? 🤔
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to see how the speaker does in stock form at 90 ish DB as he shows the "improved" response at 90 DB. You honestly can't tell me the components will behave the same ways with such a variance. Apples to apples man!! That said, I'm sure these improvements sound amazing. Especially thanks to the component domain.
ОтветитьI'm always amazed that mass production speakers can't be made with quality crossovers. It makes no sense. These companies can buy in bulk numbers that no DIYer could ever hope. They can get massive discounts on polyethylene capacitors, air core inductors, and decent resistors. The labor to solder together quality components doesn't cost any extra than the labor to solder together crappy components. If the use of better crossovers can squeeze out better performance than your competitors, even if it adds $5 to the cost of the speakers, should be a no-brainer. Yet here we are in 2024, almost 2025, and "this" is what consumers have to expect? We deserve better.
ОтветитьAndrew Robinson is an absoute idiot, dude should diy a pair of speaker and we’ll see which crossover parts he ends up using !
ОтветитьFor people talking shit, in a blind test, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the original x-over and the improved.
ОтветитьGood work Danny. Great it helps you sell update kits for rhese flawed designs. Klipsch certainly is watching. The bad part is you are doing all the work for them. They are picking your brain for solutions and not giving you any compensation. Keep up the good work and keep the faith.
ОтветитьI think Klipsch felt market went down and forced to repair some error but paid on people too to defend themselves which gives them time to earn more money without making any difference in their product line.
ОтветитьDanny. Why don’t u spin off into outer space
ОтветитьIf you go to a live concert and take measurements, I'm sure you'll find "holes" in the frequency response. A flat frequency response isn't the be all and end all. Klipsch doesn't make my favorite speakers, but the fact that they don't have a flat frequency response doesn't mean they don't sound like real music.
ОтветитьFix my box 4001s :)
ОтветитьWell, I will keep saying it.. your upgrade kissed my klipsch floor standing and they transformed from a frog to a princess when I was just about to throw the frog out of my house
ОтветитьI thought the dip in the of the spectrum was just BASS ,😎
ОтветитьThanks for this dive into the RP 6000 version 2. Everything you did to this speaker makes sense. The worst thing about purchasing speakers is what you don’t know.
This is a tower made for the consumer at a price range that should satisfy.
You buy it, you listen. You play many different tracks. Some you enjoy and some sound awful. The consumer lives with that and moves on to another pressing concern in life.
It is very difficult to get those who do not know or investigate to become interested.
Those how truly are? Would never have purchased these in the first place. This is the tiny fraction that exists between one and the other.
We can apply the law of diminishing returns to upgrading this tower.
In this case? You are 100% correct in upgrading it.
But to whom do you speak?
I get it… but most people buying don’t.
That’s the reason you must trudge forth and try to get people to understand.
Just my humble opinion.
In fairness, these aren't 5000 dollar sets of speakers.
