Sergey, thank you so much for the tour of my hometown! Glad you liked it! I felt like I was right there with you guys. If you have some time tomorrow take Lenin Street a little bit further to the Esenin Philharmonic (Concert) Hall and Theatre square. It is within 5min by car from your hotel. There is statue to Mushrooms with Eyes near Philharmonic from famous Russian saying: "In Ryazan mushrooms have eyes" А в Рязани грибы с глазами. Good luck on your trip!
ОтветитьDetails (Victorian) similar to these house's in the USA are called "gingerbread." The plastic windows in Russia look better than the plastic windows we have here in California.
ОтветитьThese are the best and most enjoyable tours. So much history, beauty and true Russia. Thank you sharing for sharing with us! 💐 💐
ОтветитьHow many time zones have you so far travelled?
ОтветитьAbsolutely fascinating! Thank you for showing us these beautiful and historic areas of Russia. Your wealth of knowledge of Russia and history is impressive!
ОтветитьHello, Sergey and Albina! If you still stay in Ryazan, my hometown, I want to recommend you to go to the hotel and entertainment complex "В Некотором царстве" ("In Some kingdom"), which is located near Ryazan, on 13 km of the Ryazan - Vladimir highway. It is in the style of Russian fairy tales, there are baths, a hotel, a park and a zoo, the entrance costs 1000 rubles, it is in the form of a token and can remain as an entrance ticket forever or spent in a restaurant and rental of velomobiles and other things. There the protected area begins, pine trees, clean air, then there is the resort village of Solotcha, which is officially part of the city of Ryazan. It is also called Ryazan Switzerland for the similarity of the landscapes. Paustovsky worked there, there is his path, in Solotcha. This is the Oka Nature Reserve-the gateway to the Meschera National Park. If you ever have time - go there, it's Brykin Bor (Брыкин бор). There are bison (зубры) and many plants and animals listed in the Red Book, such as Выхухоль (the Muskrat animal).
I would also like to remind you that modern Ryazan was officially named Ryazan by order of Catherine II (the Great) in 1778, before that this city was called Pereyaslavl Ryazan (Переяславль Рязанский), it was founded in 1095, or rather its Kremlin (Fortress). The walls of the Kremlin were wooden, but they rotted over time and were removed in the 17th century. Old Ryazan, which was ravaged by Batu Khan, is located 50 km away on the other side of the Oka River, it is even older than Pereyaslavl Ryazan. Pereyaslavl Ryazan was one of the outposts of the Ryazan Principality. In fact, there is nothing in Old Ryazan, only huge ramparts, the remains of the walls of one temple and archaeologists who conduct continuous excavations there. There they found the largest gold and silver treasures in Russia after Kiev. If you were in a museum, you would see it all. Some of the treasures are stored in Moscow, in the historical museum.
You could also walk along Lenin Street to the Drama Theater, this is a historical street, there are many old buildings, including the Philharmonic hall with a monument to Ivan Pavlov, the courthouse, the regional Duma, and so on. you can also walk around the complex "Konyushenny Dvor", it is in Ryazan itself. You went around the entrance to the Kremlin by a roundabout route, and there are also many interesting buildings on the left, there is a lollipop museum and a Russian restaurant, and a beautiful view of the bell tower is located there.
ОтветитьOh! Sergey! And I also forgot to say one interesting fact about the fact that on Sobornaya Street there is the world's first store of Maximilian Faktorovich - the famous creator of cosmetics Max Factor. Yes, yes, his first store was opened in Ryazan! There, not far from the Children's World, closer to Lenin Square, there is a sign about this fact at his store. ;-)
ОтветитьI think he should also join Twitch since he broadcast live.
ОтветитьEvery place in America is full of squirrels. Every yard. Even the White House yard if full of them.
ОтветитьSomeone should make a movie about Esenin's affair with Anatoly Mariengof.
