GRAMPIAN, Pa. -- The cause of a fire that ripped through a Grampian home last night and claimed the lives of a woman and her two dogs is still under investigation. In the meantime, more information has been released about the victim.
The coroner said the womans name is Kathleen Todd.
She died in the fire but autopsy results for an exact cause of death are not yet available.
In the meantime, she leaves behind mourning friends.
Its just a sad situation and so many memories when I look at that house, said Todds friend Nancy Murray.
Many of Murrays memories come from childhood.
She grew up in the Chestnut Grove Highway house that burned down Wednesday evening.
I grew up in this house until I was in sixth grade and then we moved next door to my grandmothers house, said Murray.
Now those memories are overshadowed by a horrible vision.
I couldnt believe, said Murray. I mean there were just flames and everything.
Her friend Kathleen Todd who most recently lived there with her two dogs was inside the home as Murray watched a half-dozen fire crews battle the blaze.
Murray said Todd had mobility problems and also used an oxygen tank.
While theres no word if that had anything to do with the fire, the fire marshal is looking into all possibilities.
Meanwhile, Todds friends concentrate on what is known.
Its very sad, said Murray. And her dogs, I am an animal lover, and as I understand it, her dogs were by her.
