this game is absolute trash, I watched players just end it turn 2 with 50 link summons, 100 special summons and 8000LP > 0 the other player, with unkillable, untargetable, level 8+ heroes.

And yet, you want to ban pot of greed, because of card advantage?!?!? you people are jokes, surely. Litterally, player 2's 1st turn he chained about 50 monsters and special summons without even playing a magic card. AND YOU WANT TO BAN POT OF GREED!?!?! as over 30's dude, who picked up the game just recently, this game is so far removed and changed from the original "normal summon a monster and i'll set a trap card and end my turn" era, its absolute insanity that you think that this is even remotely OK or even in the spirit of the game.

Call it power creep, call it ludicrous designers, call it whatever, but this is not Yu-gi-oh! duel monsters anymore, its something far more disgusting and crazier. The game needs a refresh, and the rules/ban lists need to be revised or something. Its pathetic.

Maybe my own ignorance, but the match between moriuchi and netz… seems kind of cheat-y that essentially the final duel was won by netz on a factor of time. That combo was so complex it almost seems unfair. He ran out the clock essentially and burned moriuchi for LP before he could even make a single play. Is that just the meta in tourney play or like am I missing something because that seems (even if unintentional on netz’s part) very unfair.

What has yugioh become.. Is this even yugioh anymore? looks like it might be time for a reboot.

The year is 20xx, and all 20 fans of Yu-Gi-Oh are cheering on their favorite players while watching the stream. Both players sit down with their identical armored starfish decks, which has been the top tier for over 25 years. The meta has advanced so far that games are decided on a coin flip, since there is zero counterplay to armored starfish going first The ref comes over and initiates the coin flip, and within a few seconds roars of applause erupt from all 3 spectators watching from the seats. Truly peak gaming.

Just here to say I watched this and enjoyed it, since I didn't see many positive comments. I'm trying to understand the complexities of this game after 20 years away from it, and watching the replays of these with a card database handy is the best way, I've found. Fwiw, I think it's a really great game that allows you to create an infinitude of unique strategies with cards/characters/ideas/archetypes that resonate with you. I think that Konami has made a such an absurdly complicated and personalizable game functional at a competitive level at all is kind of incredible. I feel as though balance in all competitive games and sports is essentially an impossible task; even Chess, as an example, has been 'reduced to' a series of set responses to set plays, sometimes like 50 turns in. Nobody complains about power creep in Chess, though. As a newbie to the community I still can't quite see where people who are complaining about the state of the game are coming from. But it's probably just my ignorance.

Yugioh lost its identity a long time ago. Master duel was so fun when it first came out due to it not being current meta. Konami probably know they have ruined it.
