It’s only because of the so-called West weapons delivery that Ukraine can fight.

The Russian people payed the ultimate price of a war: about 27 million people dead as a result of WWII.
A whole country as it were suffering from PTSS. The West continuing aggression, mostly by ever expanding NATO appears to them an existential threat. Hence war.

Was another route possible? I would have favored more diplomacy, but can understand stance of Russia. 100-thousands of lives have been uselessly offered on the altar of the ego’s of socalled world leaders. Mostly they lead us, common men, the people, into utter destruction.

More diplomacy, I would have loved to see it, but ultimately it would most probably fail as what happens now can be easily seen as WWIII: the West (USA+UK+vassalstates EU) against China, Russia and other ountries that are fed up with hegemony of the USA. Did Russia actaualy Invade Ukraine in 2022? By the time Russian troops crossed the border, in 2022 those eastern states had already voted in a proper referendum to join the Russian Federation. Legal referendums in the Donbass took place on the 11th May 2014, so for 8 years NATO backed Ukraine was bombing the Russian Federation. The Crimea held their legal referendum on the 16th March 2014 afterwhich Ukraine attempted an invasion.

The USA/EU both declared the elections illegal due to possible corruption and misconduct, but both these, threatened anyone who attended.

On February 21, 2022, Russia recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). A few days later, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The decision was made in response to a request for help from the People's Republics of Donbass.
On September 23-27, 2022, referendums on the issue of joining Russia were held in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
The results of the referendums
In the LPR, 98.42% of voters voted for joining Russia (100% of protocols were processed);
Kherson region — 87.05% (100% of protocols processed);
Zaporizhia region — 93.1% (100% of protocols processed).
DNR — 99.23% (100% of protocols processed).
On September 30, 2022, international agreements were signed on the entry of new regions into the Russian Federation on the rights of its subjects.
On October 3, 2022, the State Duma voted for the ratification of treaties on the inclusion of regions into Russia, and on October 4, the documents were approved by the Federation Council.
