Pink Floyd music touches the soul because there music is life.

The lyrics alone are tear jerking... We need more love in this world. The guitar is a masterpiece when played by Gilmour. The song gives voice to everyone that has protested the corrupt governments, greedy corporations and bullies.

I get emotional listening to The Turning Away too. I’m 41 and Dave Gilmour means so much to me. He is simply the greatest to ever pick up a Strat, and the songwriting here is just amazing. Music peaked in this era and with these amazing artists.
