Bill, what’s the info on the Veterans Day show at the Aggie?
ОтветитьI just hopped out of my 90 gt literally and got 3 comments on my commute to Walmart
ОтветитьAhhhhh, the beauty and fun of the late 80’s and early 90’s, in some fun pony cars, and working at Circuit City. lol
The cars were simpler and the times were simpler. 🙌🏼
Nothing better than a mid eighty to mid ninties Fox body Mustang. Good job. Prices going up by the day.
ОтветитьNone of these are a problem for me and I have owned on since I was 15 years old.
ОтветитьBump the timing headers off road hpipe and 373 gears that car would be fun
ОтветитьI grew up in Randolph and lived in Middleborough and the Metro West area for a time. Where are you close to?
Ответитьyou're nut saying one of the ugliest cars. you crazy bruh! lol
Ответитьthose side mirrors are fine. can you imagine how ridiculous it would look with bigger side mirror's?
Ответитьthe only quirks that are not easy to live with is fuel mileage and the ride beats you up. also being rear drive and light in the rear you must be carful in the rain. snow states don't even bother.
ОтветитьLove these fox bodies! Just posted a video of an ‘89 white GT convertible with under 30,000 original miles. Beautiful car! Thanks for posting. Am now a new subscriber!
ОтветитьI dont mind the mirrors at all. I don’t even have a rear view mirror on mine anymore. That said I grew up on motorcycles so maybe I’m just used to 2 small mirrors being all you got.
ОтветитьNet horsepower measured at the output of the transmission is what Ford advertised. 225 for the manual and 220 for the automatic. The horsepower at the crank was closer to 250.
245-247 is common on a good condition motor. Theses are still fast cars but where they used to rule the streets, they're not anymore. These cars dominated scca racing.
I bought my 89 auto gt in 99 with 60k miles on it. My brother who was a mechanic serviced it, bumping the timing up and put a cat back system on it. We timed 0-60 at 5.9 he said if you can get it to hook up better you could probably do 5.8.
I still have the car. It looks like garbage and has some blow by but it still runs and drives.
I’ve had days/weeks where I had to drive my 91 LX 5.0 5sp daily because one of our other cars were down. It’s very reliable. Mine has a strong stock engine with 112k but I’ve got a ton of “day 2” mods. 3.73 gears, staggered wheels/tires, off road h-pipe, Flowmasters, Hurst Ford Performance billet short throw shifter, aluminum driveshaft.
Ice cold AC but honestly my top is down 90% of the time. I get as many thumbs up as if I was driving a 1968 Mustang. I’ve had mine almost 7 years now. Best things about the car is it sounds amazing and parts are available and cheap.
Ohhhh that thing is prime 👌
ОтветитьNice car brother ❤
ОтветитьNice car brother ❤
Ответитьthere is no down size to owning one... its a classic...do you think anything made now.. will be around in 30+ years ??? My 89 convert has those same head rests. No trunk space at all.I can only get in it ( without whacking my head) with the top down. Noisy as hell and never go a mile without someone wanting to race me. Its not a everyday driver...
ОтветитьThat is a really clean 80's GT. it's hard to believe it's about 36 years old already. I've owned two, 90' and 93' that were purchased new at about 16,000 each. They were fun cars that were comfortable and fast at that time. My only dislike was the manual trans as they both had issues, but they sounded great with Flow Masters.. I'm also not a fan of the revised front end and thought earlier versions were a bit better looking. Enjoy your pristine GT
ОтветитьI drove my 92 today, puts a smile on my face every time!
ОтветитьDamn, that’s a sweet GT.
ОтветитьI have a 1990 lx HO 5.0 with a T-5 5speed
If u have a T-5 5speed and ur 302 is still healthy, a foxbody mustang can still keep up down low stop light to stop light with a lot of cars that have double the HP. Now u will lose on the top end if u are still stock
Foxbody still has an advantage over the new cars, and that's a weight advantage
Foxbody's for life
How does it compare to driving it in 2023?
ОтветитьWas this at the car show in Brookline over the summer?
ОтветитьI love these cars definitely a decent car to get around town
ОтветитьI got a 85 gt🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьYour getting comments & looks from ppl left & right . Ppl love it . I like it & own one as well . Yours is very rare with 30 k . I’m curious what you paid .
ОтветитьOK so the criticism of the small side mirrors misses the fact that the visibility around the car from the drivers seat I would argue is better than most modern cars. You don't need large side mirrors when there is plenty of glass to see out of and thin A, B, and C Pillars. 🤓
ОтветитьIt’s a beaut ….. Clark 😊
ОтветитьThey’re great because they’re simple, lightweight and analogue. Probably the largest aftermarket of any other car, even now. It’s a perfect blank canvas to build into just about anything you want. Track car/canyon carver to a stupid fast drag car.
