The Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan is actively promoting the growth of cricket as a national sport. The different contests between teams made up of adults, kids, and teenagers ensure that cricket is well-liked by the general public. The cricket federation, in particular, inaugurated the inaugural season of the Uzbekistan Open Championship in the T20 format on June 18 at the international cricket venue "ANFA" in the Qibray district. This open competition included six Tashkent teams: "ANFA Cricket Club", "Indian Cricket Tashkent Club", "Tashkent Super Kings", "Tashkent Stars", "Barlos" of the Kashkadarya district, and "Fergana Rangers" of Ferghana.
The championship's opening ceremony was planned for June 18. Aziz Mihliev, the chairman of the Uzbek Cricket Federation and CEO Ibodullaev Fazliddin attended the ceremony and congratulated the teams on the beginning of the first season and wished them luck in winning the top spots.
