The reason why in this country don’t like the Club World Cup is 1) Europe is seen as having the best pool of talent as so the Champions League is the gold standard for club football. 2) Rightly or wrongly there is a narrative around FIFA being a corruptive organisation and this tournament is viewed as, (again rightly or wrongly) some sort of money grab. 3) Hunan being generally resist change and 4) English people generally love complaining.

I for one think it’s a great to have more football to watch in the summer and the tournament gets to showcase talent from around the world, not just individual continents. This tournament will gain prestige over time, as long as they fix the selection criteria. A team like Liverpool not being involved make no sense.

How these muppets don’t understand how Chelsea and City got in is baffling.

If you won the UCL in the past 4yrs, you’re in and hence Chelsea, City & Real Madrid. Then FIFA used a weighted rating system of how strong teams were over the last 4yrs in their respective leagues and how those leagues were relative to other ones with only 2 teams max from each. 

England wasn’t needed bc their 2 spots filled by Chelsea and City since they were UCL winners in past 4yrs, Italy, Portugal, Germany got 2 spots each, Spain got 1 bc RM already in it hence Athleti, and France and Austria each got 1 spot. Pretty easy to understand

Bayern 10 -0 against Auckland is why this competition should never ever exist. European teams have all the money and best talent

The opinion may have changed if it was same as world cup, all games on dometic tv... its the usual 'watch all games challenge' etc etc. But to sell it off to DAZN and have people buy into (even just sign up for free acount).
