Love magic erasers.
ОтветитьAre these your old comic books or ones you thrifted?
ОтветитьThanks for this. I need to try it.
The bone tool is usually called a 'bone folder', because it's used to crease and score folded paper in bookbinding.
I’d heard of conservation tape before but never mending tissue. Thanks. Learn something new every day and in my opinion, a less extreme way to reinforce the cover spine. As a side note, I think heating the staples before prying them open can help avoid accidentally breaking them by making them a little more pliable
Ответитьthanks for a great video
ОтветитьNice Video, thanks! Any suggestions for re-attaching the centerfold?
ОтветитьRemoving both staples and both sides of the staple at once seems to be a i a mistake. Secure the piece in a table wise or similar, support it everywhere and protect any contact with the surface. The comic must not move when you remove the original staples. Then remove ONE corner of ONE staple and insert the new staple in. It doesn't matter if you lose the original staple , just use one from another comic from the same era that is in good shape. Tools like needle nose pliers are not good enough, try using soft wood material to press the new staples in. Repeat the process for the remaining three staple corners. Another way is to take all the pages apart and try aligning it all back together by threading new staples back in slowly and page by page by page.. Take your time
ОтветитьReplace original staples with the staples from the same era, (for ex. silver age to silver age) otherwise cgc will flag you as it requires that you do this. Only do this if one staple is missing or if it is rusted and before that rust from the staple migrates to the pages
ОтветитьDon't ask him to replace your staples.
ОтветитьOne of those magnetic trays for electronic repairs might help with staples.
