wow I have eaten eggs for 1 month and taste good never had that problem but gonna have to check them now UPDATE: I always put them in the refrigerator from the store but 1 day will get some chicks (backyard) but still put them in the refrigerator !

Hmmmm interesting, you're the Egg Doctor :) ... I've kept Eggs in the fridge and ate them even after 4 months, I am not a big Egg eater, so the Dozen stay with me for 6 months and I still eat them. I'm glad I'm still alive, I guess I'll have to throw the 6 ones I have in the fridge since 3 months now.

My eggs are always somewhat floaty, which I notice when I try to boil them and they don't submerge and move about the pot. Around 3 weeks is the official expiration date given here, which has plenty of margin built in for defects and improper storage. I checked a perfectly good egg ca 1.5 weeks old now and it was standing up. I was taught to smell every cracked egg before dropping it in food, but haven't had an actual rotten one for years when stored in the fridge. They are all fine boiled or thoroughly fried (as I like them). I wouldn't use older ones fresh in coffee, over pasta, etc.

Yes... that's informative and all fine and dandy... but is the "stale" egg inedible for cooking or scrambling? There is one video where a guy ate year old eggs and apparently didn't die... so do you have scientific EVIDENCE that eating eggs that float are Unfit or deadly for consumption or is this just an old Wives Tale?

I bought several eggs with an expiration date of 04/10/2022. Today we are on 16/09/2022.
I put them in a bucket of cold water and out of 6 eggs, 3 eggs float on the surface. They are not cracked or broken.
Do NOT trust the date written on the eggs!

Is that because they are not stored in liquid, but open air? I store my store bought eggs in 1/2Gal mason jars with purified water and 1/2tsp of dwv ... last a couple months in the fridge

This video will save lives, especially in supermarkets that are too lazy to refrigerate eggs. Coca cola and beer are priority though, always chilled. Demented world we live in.

Not to disrespect anyone, but fresh chicken eggs are good for 8 weeks on the counter, as long as they don't get wet, then 8 more weeks in the refrigerator, thank you.
