For Canadians this pales in comparison to The Tragically Hip's final show in Kingston, ON that was broadcast live on the CBC, and not long after this, Gord Downie died of brain cancer. The Hip were our band. Taylor Swift is an American pop star and an overhyped mediocrity who mimes her performances (yes there is proof). It is a crime Toronto spent more money on renaming streets temporarily for a mediocre American pop star rather than a band that was truly Canadian... The Tragically Hip. Talk about a shift in values.
